Veteran-Owned Business Loans

First Colebrook Bank is pleased to announce our small business loan program for veterans. Funds are available for qualified veterans seeking financing with an easy application process.

“We look to serve qualified veterans who are seeking small business financing,” states John Pratt, Executive Vice President at First Colebrook Bank. “Our experienced commercial lending team can assist borrowers with the application process.”

The SBA has announced new measures to help get loans into the hands of veterans. For all veteran loans up to $350,000 that are authorized under the SBA Express program, there will be no upfront fee. This initiative will start on January 1, 2014 and continue through the end of the fiscal year.

First Colebrook Bank Welcomes Joanne Connelly as VP/Commercial Loan Officer

First Colebrook Bank is pleased to announce that Joanne M. Connelly has joined the bank as Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer. 

Mrs. Connelly joins the First Colebrook Bank team with over 25 years of professional experience that has guided the success of small businesses throughout the Concord area. She has degrees in Finance and Accounting from New Hampshire College and has attended the New England School of Banking. Joanne has worked as a Relationship Loan Officer, Credit Analyst and Loan Administrator. 

Mrs. Connelly is also an active community member. She is a Leadership Greater Concord graduate and a volunteer for The United Way and Friendly Kitchen, as well as a Chatter Cup volunteer for the benefit of Easter Seals Autism Network.

37th Annual Governor's Conference on Travel and Tourism

First Colebrook Bank was a sponsor at the 37th Annual Governor’s Conference on Travel & Tourism at the Marriott in Concord, NH. The newly appointed Executive Vice President, John Pratt, attended the event. The NHTravel Council is the statewide organization for the tourism industry. For more than 30 years, the Travel Council has played an important role by actively encouraging state policies favorable to travel and tourism, and helping to foster a healthy travel industry in our state. First Colebrook Bank was happy to have a booth at the event and join the great businesses of the region.




First Colebrook Bank is pleased to announce the promotion of John Pratt to Executive Vice President

After spending over 32 years in Portsmouth-area banks, Mr. Pratt joined First Colebrook Bank in 2007. He previously served as the President of the Olde Port Bank in Portsmouth, New Hampshire as well as the Senior Vice President of First National Bank of Portsmouth. Mr. Pratt also served as the President of the Siwooganock Bank in Lancaster, New Hampshire. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Franklin Pierce College.

John currently serves on the Portsmouth Economic Development Commission. He is a long-serving, active member of the Portsmouth Rotary. He is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Strawbery Banke Museum in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. John is known for his volunteerism with a large number of civic, charitable, cultural and youth sports organizations in both the Seacoast and the North Country.

First Colebrook Bank Raises Money for New Heights Adventures for Teens 

First Colebrook Bank’s Portsmouth branch sponsored a Jeans Day that encouraged employees to donate $5.00 to wear jeans to work. The proceeds benefited New Heights Adventures for Teens, a non-profit organization on the seacoast that offers out-of-school programs for young people ages 11-18. New Height’s mission is to assist seacoast youth to develop the competence, character, confidence and resiliency necessary for a healthy and successful adulthood. We are proud to give back to the youth of Portsmouth.

We were happy to visit Carlisle Place Physical Therapy and Spa in Jefferson, NH for a First Colebrook Bank customer spotlight. Carlisle Place provides physical therapy and wellness services. First Colebrook Bank Sponsors "Shop Local" Event

Again this year, First Colebrook Bank sponsored the CDDA’s promotion of “Late Nite Madness” which promotes shopping locally. For several years, First Colebrook Bank, has co-sponsored the horse drawn wagon rides. The rides started from the First Colebrook Bank parking lot, went up Main Street. While people waited patiently in line for the ride, employees of First Colebrook Bank served them cookies and hot chocolate.

George Bald Elected to the First Colebrook Bank Board

First Colebrook Bank is pleased to announce George Bald has been elected to the bank's board of directors.

Mr. Bald is the former Commissioner for the Department of Resources and Economic Development for the State of New Hampshire. He previously served as the Executive Director of the Pease Development Authority, the City Manager for Rochester, and as Mayor of Somersworth, New Hampshire. George is also a veteran of the United States Navy.

First Colebrook Bancorp, Inc Completes Four-for-One Stock Split

First Colebrook Bancorp, Inc. announced today that it has completed a four-for-one stock split. Shareholders of record as of the close of business on September 10, 2012, the record date, received an additional three shares of common stock for every one share held. The additional shares were distributed on September 20, 2012 by means of a book entry deposit into the shareholders' accounts at The Registrar and Transfer Company.

FCB Senior VP Re-Elected to Coos County Economic Development Corp.

Congratulations to our Senior Vice President, Avis Brosseau, who has been re-elected to the Coos Economic Development Corp. (CEDC). Avis will serve as Vice President to this respected and important organization. The CEDC works to promote economic growth that fosters a strong and diverse workforce, sustainable employment and a thriving business environment. This is achieved by maintaining an economic development loan program, providing technical business assistance and community education, and supporting other regional planning and investment organizations.

CEDC will strive to operate efficiently and effectively to maintain sustainability, thus preserving its ability to serve the people of Coos County for future generations. Congratulations, Avis!


Jean Day of Giving

Jean Day of GivingEvery three months, First Colebrook Bank employees from all four branches donate $5.00 each for the luxury of participating in our "Jean Day of Giving." On a rotating basis, each First Colebrook Bank branch chooses a local organization and donates the proceeds from the "Jean Day of Giving" to that charity.  

Most recently, the Colebrook, NH branch chose the "Got Lunch" program of the Colebrook Monadnock Congregational Church, which is supported by Helping Hands North, SAU 7, New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, and many generous donors. First Colebrook Bank employees raised $220.00 for the Got Lunch program and also held a collection box for non-perishable donations. Many students in the Colebrook area have free or reduced lunches during the school year, and this program is designed to ensure they receive nutritious lunches during their summer break. The program serves over 90 children from the Colebrook, Stewartstown and Pittsburg Schools.
